If you are interested in updating your Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 with the latest Jellybean 4.2.2 firmware, you can now do it using a simple step-by-step tutorial.
Samsung did not announce the official release of the update, but in case you have already rooted your tablet, then you can easily upgrade using the provided tutorial.
What is great is that this Jellybean 4.2.2 firmare comes in with interesting updates and upgrading does not mean that you compromise the features officially provided by Google. The features that this new firmware brings include new camera settings, new fresh native UI of Jellybean 4.2.2 and what’s more important, it brings bug fixes when it comesto battery and force close issues.
Now let’s proceed and see how you can update easily.
Some quick pre requisites:
- First you should know that all of your data on your Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 (or at least the data remaining after a clean up, which you consider important) should be backed up using the following provided steps, according to the type of data you have. Before we proceed, our recommendation is not to use the KIES tool or other backup tool, as you might not be able to restore the data.
Another type of data you need to back up is the APN and MMS Category – Follow the provided path, starting with the Applications – settings – Wireless and Network and select the Mobile Networks. From there you have to select the Access Point Names.
Also, don’t forget to back up the Images & Other Type of files such as videos and songs. For this category things are easier: just copy to the internal or the external SD Card. And that’s it. Now you can proceed to the next pre requisite.
- Now, enable the USB Debugging following the path: Settings – select Applications – from the Development select the USB Debugging.
- Don’t forget to check the battery level and be sure that it is at least 40% charged, if else the device might get turned off in the middle of the update and the surprise is that you have to start the whole process all over again.
